WHERE IS THE CLASS?
We have weekly classes in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
WHAT ARE THE HOURS?
Days and times vary based on age, however classes ususally run for 2-3 hours.
WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS CLASS?
There is NO PRETENCE. We know that working as an actor on screen means that they will be expected to deliver no matter their age. Therefore their training should be no different. We treat the actors in our course like professionals (no matter their level). There are no drama games and no pretend play. The actors that attend our course are interested in pursuing a career in acting and we treat that ambition with respect. We show them how to develop a character, learn the mechanics of screen acting and help them understand what's expected of them on a film set. We teach method acting with a psychological approach to create depth in their performance on screen. The students will explore the views of Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler learning script analysis, reactive work, casting range, emotional recall all while buliding their showreel to a professional level.
DO I GET TO STAR IN THE LEADING ROLE?
This is the foundation of what we do. All our scripts are for 2 or 3 actors allowing everyone the opportunity to have a main speaking role. We believe that an actor can only develop if they are actually acting and not being part of a 80 cast chorus. By filming the actors in groups of just 2 or 3 we can see what worked well and what they need to develop for their next piece of filming.
